Wow, after spending a couple of hours trying to find out what was causing strange rendering artefacts in my WPF animations I finally found the culprit in a place I didn’t expect: It was the “Themes” service that wasn’t running on the system. The moment I enabled it and the window decorations became the Windows 7-typical Aero style, all the animations were suddenly flawless and fluid. 🙂
